ipod/itunes trouble. smart people must read

My ipod nano is driveing me crazy.
I plug it in to update and a window came up saying that its in recovery mode and needs to be restored.
Well i have a restore bottom, so i go with it, it says its restored soon, but then that same window comes up again telling me i need to restore it.
Now my ipod is wiped clean from all music files.
It also sounds weird when i try to listen to music, like sounds are drowend out or just crazy like that.
if any of you guys know wTF is going on, please tell me.
