Then right before he hits the verses, he plays the same progression, but an E instead of a D. The verses are D, A, E x2, D, D/C#, Bm, A, D, E. The second half of the verse is D, A, E, D, Bm, F#m, D, D/C#, Bm, A, D, E. I hope that helps at all
