I like a lot of things. I do love a lot of old music, such as motown (The Four Tops, The Shirelles, Hot Topic) and stuff like The Ratpack. I love old pop music too. And, I have to admit, I like a lot of corny modern pop music too. I love crap from the charts.

Otherwise, I really love mod rock, classic rock and glam rock. Don't listen to much metal, but I do like symphonic metal (like Nightwish and Within Temptation) and whatever genre Iron Maiden are.

I also love folk sounding music, such as First Aid Kit and etc. I like people like Ingrid Michaelson and Noah and the Wales too (again don't know the genre).

I enjoy a lot of big room house and tropical house, and I also like grime.

Musical theatre is one of my favourite genres. I love the performance/story aspect of it as well.

My fave genre of all time, however, is opera tbh. Nothing else has the power to move me quite as much as opera.

Honestly I'm down for listening to most things- the only genres I really can't stand are screamo/death metal and just like really hardcore metal in general.
'I love you because you're you. I'm happy that you're whole. I don't care if there are sides of you that I don't know, or don't like. If that's who you are, that's fine. As long as you're whole, that's enough for me.'-Kouko Kaga

I'm just looking at everyone in this thread , and they all seem to have way different music preferences than me. I like me some lyric-less music , maybe future/electronic music. I usually go for the more energetic music. Not a fan of many other genres.

I listen to lots of different genres of music. I mostly like Japanese styled future bass and jrock at the moment, but I've enjoyed genres like breakcore, traprap, artcore, lofi andthrash metal.

From what I've heard, playing rhythm games broadens your preferences quite a bit, so that's likely why.

My prefered music is very eclectic.

Incubus - Drive
Lonestar - amazed
Jason Derulo - If I'm Lucky
Starset - Monster

these are some of my recently played on my Ipad, but music has always been whatever strikes me at the time, and it's so random. (I even have backstreet boys on my Ipad -_-)

You can never go wrong with classic...the new songs nowadays all sound the same...not just western are guilty of this, even japanese pop feel generic, loud, incoherent...

remember that SAO movie song, Lisa - Catch the Moment? all of my friends love it...but i find it loud, obnoxious and unbearable to listen to...sure its catchy, but its just annoying...

thats why i only listen to song up to 90's...although my wife occasionally listen to new western songs...none of em ever catch my attention that much (michael buble everything, and one call away is decent, i guess?... but as far new generation song goes, its not my cup of tea)

Punk is my personal favourite.
Love the energy, love the feel, love the message, love the lifestyle, love the subculture.

Any punk fans out here? :D

And if anyone is interested in getting into punk, some of my personal favourite bands are Ramones, The Offspring, The Clash, Sex Pistols, Slaughter and the Dogs, The Stooges (more proto-punk/garage rock but hey, it's in the ballpark), Dead Kennedys, GBH, Black Flag, etc...

Growing up in a household where only classical music was acceptable, I did not stray too far from the rules.. or have I?
50's, 60's and 70's Rock. 60's Jazz. Blues. Dub if in the mood for it.
Yet classical pieces are still deep within my soul.

I usually listen to j-pop, vocaloid, love live, and some English but I’ve listened to lyric less music also.

Vocaloid music doesn’t usually talk about things English music normally does I guess.

Some vocaloid artists if you wanted to know are Hitoshizuku, Akuno-p/ mothy (vocaloids die a lot)
Ghost (English Producer) and Dasu (Tagalog)
Kurage-p, Pinocchio-p
Yunosuke posts eng lyrics
