You know, hearing Vegeta actually open his heart a little bit about his feelings before running off actually explains a lot of things I hadn't even thought about before, namely why he suddenly dropped his ambitions for immortality as well as his desire to destroy Earth and its people. You could say it might have just been his fear of the Super Saiyan and what Kakarrot would do to him if he'd taken advantage of the opportunity, but by having Vegeta open up to Turles and commiserating with him, it makes explicit just how shaken their worldview was not just by Kakarrot's attainment of the legendary form in spite of (or because of) his un-Saiyan nature but also the very idea of the DragonBalls on not just Earth, but Namek essentially neutering them both from just going back to what they were before or filling the power vacuum left by Freeza or something like that. It also recontextualizes Vegeta's abrupt departure as a chance for him to take space (heh) to process his own feelings in private to redefine his purpose as a rival to Kakarott instead of his enemy while under the pretext of a frankly bonkers and patently futile quest to find Kakarott somewhere in an entire galaxy and somehow beat the secret of Super Saiyan out of him with zero leverage or advantage if he had somehow tracked him down.
A good moment, well written.

I think it would be nice if Turles gets his hand back when he finally makes the switch. Kinda symbolizing his rebirth 🤷🏽

It would be pretty funny if Goku came back to Earth with Turles’ crew. That would be some good irony.

Turles is the underdog we are all rooting for!

So a thought occurred to me as Turles waits for a year. He wants to know how goku ticks to become a super saiyan. What if while talking to gohan chi chi lets slip that goku's adventure started with the dragon balls.
So looking at his robotic hand goes in search for them as a means of 1 understanding how goku ticks by asking people from his past and 2 regenerating his robotic hand. Maybe even taking krillin along. Because krillin is everyone's friend.

Between this & the "what if Babibi turned good", I noticed that Piccolo plays a pivotal role in turning both protagonists - guiding them through the mental process and development... With that said, could you please do a "What if Piccolo stayed evil" story please!?!?!

Once again I really love what happens when characters interact with Earth in this what If,s. It just makes everything interesting. The next part I hope we see more of turtles interacting with more characters on earth.

I saw it in the comments somewhere, but I think it would be hilarious if Goku returned to Earth with Turles's crew. Would have a great sense of irony for both Turles (who didn't bother to contact his crew) and Vegeta (who's search for Goku was for nothing, yet the crew happened to find him). I was also going to suggest that Turles and Bulma get together, but I did just remember that Vegeta comes back to Earth sometime before Goku does, and since Turles seems to be preferring his isolation, I'm sure Vegeta and Bulma will still shack up as normal. I do have to wonder what will happen during the Android Saga. Would Dr. Gero know about the Tree of Might? And would he want to use it, despite being a man of science first and foremost?

Vegeta : fine ill find him myself. *Flys off and come back 5 minutes later.* bulma can I borrow a spaceship?

I like how this series is taking its time it progressing through the timeline, and developing Turles. I see to many what ifs zoom through the story, this channel is one of the only ones that makes the characters as central as they deserve to be, instead of just power scaling and more surface changes in the major events we are already familiar with.

A great part! Turles's scene talking with Vegeta is one of your best, even if Piccolo always has his own part to play. As Season ends go.. this feels right/

It would be great for Turles and Goku did the Fusion Dance and became the most visually unsurprising fusion possible.

I honestly like how Turles shows respect to most of the characters, even Krillin. It adds more than Tree of Might did and gives him and Vegeta some contrast.

Welp turles is sure in for a surprise when we get to the granolah saga.

If you EVER give Turles god ki in the future episodes, then PLEASE make him go super saiyan rose in a logical way.

Damn Goku going Super Saiyan really has just sent Turles spiralling. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out as Turles tries to reconcile the image of Kakarot being a disgrace to Bardock's legacy to also being the pinnacle of their race as a Super Saiyan. Obviously, he's going to be pretty stubborn about it but I don't imagine anywhere near as stubborn as say Vegeta. I think this will be the turning point where Turles is really going to have to start re-evaluating the Saiyan way of life and himself.

Great series so far how Turles is there but not in the way of DBZ History. Hope to see what you can do with the Garlic Jr ark to give Turles something to itch the fighting spirit. Like to see some growth, maybe see him with Launch, or another girl we haven't seen in a while.

It is awesome that Turles is now on earth. After seeing Goku as a super saiyan cause him his fighting spirit to be lost and to be confused at what to do with his life. I liked that Vegeta and the other z fighters talked to him in this part. Honestly I am curious who will you pair him with. Since Vegeta is not on earth will Bulma end up with Turles? Or will he be with Launch? Either way I would be fine with the outcome. Looking forward to the next part in this what if.

Hey Masako who all did you voice in dbza? I know you voiced Goku and Gohan but who else if any? The reason why I asked is because I am re-watching the complete series right now and your voice acting just fits all of the characters better. I think it's because I watch your what ifs more than I watch dbza.

You know what I wonder what we can do similar to What if Slug turned Good, I want him to be kind of the rival to Piccolo and having them both have a dynamic duo. Slug can be the Vegeta's of Piccolo.

It is so interesting to note how every Saiyan would react to Goku becoming a super saiyan. For Raditz and Bardock, it's pride and honor. For Vegeta, it's pride and jealousy. For Nappa, he just doesn't get it, but man is it cool. For Turles, it just breaks him. I imagine for Gone, it would break her heart to see her kind hearted son turn to such Fury, hatred, and sadism. For Broly, he just doesn't care. Super Saiyans are weak compared to him. He's just out to do daddy's job for him. I imagine King Vegeta would act horrified that his lineage was dishonored by some low class warrior gaining that sort of power.

That would make for a nice change of pace. I know you technically did that in your recent video about movie villains but that video was too short to expand on that. Please, have Bulma show some interest towards Turles ! Heck, you can even bring back black haired Trunks if you feel like it.^^

What if Future Bulma was unable to build the time machine and Trunks had to resolve the Androids as well as cell himself?

Maybe you could have Turtles contact his crew after a while and when he tells them he's waiting on earth they warn him about freezer and his father coming to earth and you have that info coming from Elec.

I’ve always wanted to see a What If about Spike the Devil Man turning good. Why? For one reason and one reason alone: the Devilmite Beam. It is a beam that uses the victim’s own evil thoughts against them. It’d be sick to see a Dragon Ball villain beating the likes of Frieza with ease, and some extra tension and clever storytelling could come out of the times it wouldn’t work. I can easily imagine Spike trying out the beam on the present androids and being shocked when it doesn’t work/do much because they technically haven’t done anything bad yet. It’d also be interesting how much Cell would change because of his presence.
This would probably have to be limited to an April Fools what if. He’s probably too OP as a hero, and the idea of a _devil man_ being good is also a stretch to begin with. Still want it though.

So is Turles good now or is he still somewhat evil

What if... Goku took an equal amount of responsibility in raising and teaching Gohan?
What would Gohan have been like if goku trained him at the same time as chichi teaching him? If goku was a better/more active parent, could gohan have been able to tap into his well rounded potential much sooner?

Interesting. With Turles on Earth now, I wonder if it'll be Trunks who comes back from the future before Goku's arrival, or if it'll be someone else. I don't think he's a good match for Bulma, maybe more so with Launch.
