We know Chinatsu isn't cool with that revelation, though then again, she doesn't have much reason to feel sooo down about it as well, at least that's what she must be thinking. But yeah, this has to be the most obvious and most direct attempt at making this whole thing a love-triangle, we've seen from this series yet. Add the bit about both of them coming to cheer Taiki for his practice match against Yusa.

Btw, just from a personal experience, sports in this series has always kinda left a sour taste in mouth more often than not.. the end results basically. This is still nothing btw, I mean there's a lot to come going forward, but yeah, at least this match is going to be a cracking contest. Also guys relax, we’re still only at 17th episode, no way we’re getting a kiss...

... which btw here, isn't the saddest thing. I mean the world record time with which Taiki denied a kiss from Hina, is, for reasons more than one:(

Fuckkk another episode that just makes that inevitable Hina rejection hurt 1000x more. She’s trying her best to get Taiki to look at her that way, I mean any other guy is folding during that classroom kiss attempt, but Taiki’s heart just isn’t in it. Anyone that’s had multiple people like them at the same time just gets it.

He’s attracted to Hina that’s clear, that’s why he gets all flustered when she says romantic stuff to him and why he has the heart palpitations etc. He’s a dude at the end of the day. BUT Chinatsu has his heart and even when Hina says cute shit to him, he thinks back to Chinatsu. That’s what that kiss rejection was about too, wasn’t just the kiss, but a rejection of crossing that line with Hina because he feels committed to someone else. Another example’s when Hina said she wanted to watch the guy she likes train his hardest, soon as Chinatsu says she wants to watch Taiki’s match too, his mind instantly goes to that. Feel so bad for Hina 😔

Lmao, way to pay off Haryu and Chinatsu’s convo by having Taiki literally ask Haryu for water when he’s eating curry. It’s great Taiki has so many older people looking out for him. So much of improving at a sport is mental, and I kinda worry for Taiki if he’s torn like this for too much longe though. Something’s gonna have to give. He already knows in his heart that Chinatsu is who he wants and he can’t return Hina’s feelings.

Honestly at this point Hina should just get with Kyo cause it’s clear they’re gonna have a thing lol. Two rejected people finding solace in one another. Classic romance trope.

whatever will be the reaction but there is lot more to go on this anime and it's only 17th episode I think there is huge comming ahead.

as for Hina , she should go with kyo and sometimes the people don get opportunity to be with the person they love so we have to accept and move on thats why she should start again a new life and find someone better for her kindness and excellent love .

This seems to be going downhill ever since the last two episodes. Everything now just felt so forced and their conversations were awkward as hell. We're basically forced to guess what they're thinking since all they do are staying silent and not expressing their feeling.

Chinatsu took the reveal surprisingly well. However, it seemed more like she completely dodged it. After Hina left she appeared lost in her thoughts. I really wonder how she really feels about Taiki. At this point, I do think she has feelings for him. But to what extent?

Taiki and Hina's scenes together continue to be entertaining—especially the part where Taiki pretends to be the prince. It was funny and heartwarming. But also a bit sad.

Being in a slump while everyone around you is making huge breakthroughs feels like shit. I feel bad about Taiki. Both his sports and love life are in a complicated spot. Wonder how he'll do against Yusa. I don't think he can win in such a condition.

I get he was trying to illustrate the difference between commitedness and stoicism, but Haryu classifying Taiki as a masochist and Chinatsu as a sadist gave me ...ideas about the direction their dynamic might take down the line.

Also, I couldn't have been less ready for Evil Queen Taiki lmao

I wonder if I'm the only one who thinks that Taiki would be a great fit for the role of the evil Queen in the snow White play? XD

Still, I thoroughly enjoyed the scene between Hina and Taiki, where he did his best to help her with the script practice. It became less of the actual practice and more of the two of them getting a bit too embarrassed, which was amusingly cute.

It did reflect more on Taiki and his internal struggles. I guess you can say that he's in a slump in more ways than one, where he feels that he's falling behind the progression that Chinatsu and Hina have in their respective sports. Not only that, but Yusa appears at the end of the episode. This should give Taiki a chance to play Yusa again, although I feel that the result will be the same as it was in the qualifiers a while ago.

I hope I'm wrong with that prediction, but I certainly see it going that way.

I don't like the fact that Hina is really persistent in her feelings for Taiki, knowing that Taiki has feelings for Chinatsu, seriously she should just stop and find someone else to fall in love with, there are a lot of Taiki's out there.

Well when you have feelings for someone, and they haven't been taken yet, it's extremely hard to just set them aside simply because they may have eyes for someone else. It hurts and part of you wants to think that there's still a chance they might look your way if things don't work out with that person they're in love with. It's part of why she told Chinatsu about her confession to try and gauge her reaction, hopeful that she wouldn't care.

Hina's clinging on, trying to make Taiki see her after realizing her own feelings when it's already far too late. Don't forget they're close friends, too. Taiki has a level of affection for Hina (and probably some minor physical attraction), but what he feels for her is definitely platonic. Her confession left him completely shocked and now he's conflicted on how he should deal with it as he doesn't want to lose her as a friend.

This is part of why the unrequited love/hopeless suitor trope stands as one of my favorites in all media. There's something oddly beautiful about it. And being on that end a number of times myself in the past, I can definitely sympathize with Hina and the pain that comes with rejection.

Hina keeps on attacking. She isn't going down without a fight that's for sure but I don't think the Taiki she likes would ever like her more than Chinatsu. Both Hina and Chinatsu are great so it's really sad seeing one of them will lose their war of Love but even if one of them loses I'm sure they'll find some else someday.

Again I have to say though Harems literally solve every love triangle unless the two girls absolutely hate each other.

Taiki-kun really looks determined to win his next competition, but he clearly doesn’t know how to deal with the current situation.

Hina told Chii that she likes him, but, in her heart, she kinda knew that. I personally believe that Taiki should not let this opportunity slip away and confess once and for all his true love feelings to her.

Honestly I’m team Hina. It’s like Oregairu all over again but instead of me rooting for Yukino (Chinatsu) I rooted for Yui (Hina). Even thought I rooted for Yukino but in Blue Box I feel like Hina deserves it the most. I know Taiki will end up with Chinatsu but man I feel bad for Hina because she truly deserve it here let’s NOT lie to our feelings.

There should be more consideration on quitting, not just for Taiki but for everyone. Less than 1% of school athletes become professional. Even the one that win interhigh/koshien doesn't guarantee a sport future. Should they waste their time playing sports rather than preparing for university exam?

Every time Hina shows more sincerity about her feelings for Taiki, it hurts. She's so sweet and gets along so well with him, but even though Chinatsu hasn't shown any romantic feelings for Taiki yet, it still feels like Hina is fighting a losing battle. It's sad, no matter how good they look as a potential match, the heart wants what it wants, and it's highly unlikely that Taiki will stop being in love with Chinatsu.

(The silver lining is that I'm on Chinatsu's side too, but I really hope Hina finds someone who values her feelings the way she deserves!) 😢

Taiki is feeling left behind by the people he respects, especially Yusa. He feels like he hasn’t improved enough to face him. But I’m sure everything will change once the girl he likes and the one who loves him cheer him on.

Thi episode's animation wasn’t consistently good—except for maybe one or two scenes but overall decent one.

Thinking about this logically Chi living with Taiki is way too massive a advantage. The practice game would be a good opportunity and with it being with Sajikawa high a vital one as well. Hina chasing down Taiki was amusing. As was Hina's expressions during the practice. Its good that Taiki is realizing that at some point he has to make a choice. Can't wait to see how the practice game would change Taiki.

Uhh, that end was really something.

It seems like Chinatsu failed to make an advancement after what Hina said to her, and you could she was disappointed with herself in the end of the conversation.

What I enjoyed the most in this episode was about how Taki's determination in getting better and better, while at the beginning of the series was protrayed as something admirable, motivational and good for him, it's now turning to something that is consuming Taki. The fact that he has reached a point that he needs to get much better in such a short time is making him not realise that he is indeed much better than he was before, and this "motivation" is now turning into a autodestructive cycle, shown by Taki being a bit soulless sometimes in this episode, while at the beginning of the series was what was making him grow stronger. I feel like this message is also really important, and I don't know, I can relate to that as well. I wonder if they'll continue with this narrative, now that his rival has finally appeared since episode 8.

Also, it seeems we are getting really close to Taki comming up with a decision about his feelings, since the fact that he hasn't answered Hina is a big burden for him. Maybe after the match with his rival?

Chinatsu knows Hina confessed now, perhaps she's thinking why she didn't first, now they are living separately.
Taiki trains diligently for his rematch against that student.
He's well ahead of players in the same year but can't beat his upperclassman.
Helping Hina practice her lines has made him lose focus more. Haryuu sees it very clearly that Taiki is diligent but is not in control like Chinatsu. When he walks in the metaphorical desert, he keeps walking forgetting to hydrate. Haryuu follows Chinatsu's advice to share water with him but the captain's already bought curry.
