"Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me" was written in 1952 and popularized by Mel Carter in 1965. Few images can evoke the wholesome family Americana theme of the era more than The Lawrence Welk Show. Here is an instrumental version with four violins, a viola and a cello that together sound like a chamber orchestra and Welk's Champagne Lady Norma Zimmer dancing with her two sons and husband. Both the strapping lads look so damn uncomfortable dancing with mom as if it took some mighty arm-twisting for them to agree to appear. "Aw mom, please no!!" The actual song begins at 1:20.
