While Egypt is quite cheap to do on your own booking your own flight and staying in guesthouses and hiring your own car drivers, sail boats, and motor boats, many take a Nile River cruise package tour which are really expensive, but much easier so many retirees and family go that option instead of going out in the their really rough real world alone on your own.

Hey Rick that stiff and archaic looking "husband and wife" statues are the figurines of prince Rahotep and his wife Nofret , the first time the Egyptian sculptors moved away from the typical sharp edges and extreme angles. The Greeks got inspiration and learned their art from the Egyptians and those two figurines played a major role.

I have never heard of an incident at St. Catherine’s but please check with a reputable tour operator first for details and regulations.
I miss Anthony Bourdain but Rick Steves fills his shoes for me! Thanks Steve!
Isn't Rick Steves the first ever travel vlogger? 😁
For sure. The dude was ahead of our time. I remember watching him in high school when they would roll in the tv and pop in the vhs tape.
You are certainly correct!
@@Jimmy-b1y5q you had an awesome history class then.
What's a travel blogger? Another tourist slang?
@@Jimmy-b1y5q remember when Rick had a little travel newsletter
and stayed "last class"just like me.I'm up to 3rd class now
but won't travel if I have to do the luxury route..

Thanks for your continuous love and support towards me❤️ how long have you been a fan?
I gotta admit! This documentary really makes me want to go to Egypt! Although I've always been fascinated with the pyramids, ruins & ancient culture, I was scared away of going by family members who went years ago and told me how dirty and unsafe it was there. May have to put this trip back up in my Top 5! Thanks, Rick!
For sure you & your family will love visiting Egypt!

Rick Steves, je n'ai pas de mot convenable : on ne s'ennuie dans aucun de ses voyages autour du monde.
I am an Egyptian living abroad and I really enjoyed this video. Thank you.
This is message of love and peace for all Egyptians from Ethiopia.
Open the tap man I want to wash my face 😅
I would like Rick Steve to tour and explore historic and cultural wonders of all over the world, like this episode in Egypt. not just Europe.
Travel is the best education
Omg Your literary narrative..so mesmerising. Thanks Sir Rick .
Rick Steves and the Team of Rick Steves, it is an outstanding great feat to cover a historically rich civilization like Egypt 🇪🇬. You and your team encompassed and covered all the civilizations the formed Egypt 🇪🇬 as we know now. It is only 55 minutes that took us from Northern to the southern Egypt thru 5000 years of history.
Thanks Rick.
You can't go to Aswan without a visit to The Old Cataract Hotel for afternoon tea, where Agatha Christi wrote Death on the Nile.
Egypt is such an amazing place, and I am so lucky that I get to show travelers this wonderful country, ancient and modern, while helping them experience all the good of Egypt and minimizing any hassle or pitfalls. Rick Steves, you always have such great content exploring authentically, so thank you for making this beautiful piece on Egypt and inspiring more people to come visit my second home :)
What a lovely return to Egypt Rick. I returned to Australia on the 3rd of March with my group of 23, who had also been so beautifully looked after by Tarek and his company - Egypt and Beyond. We had little time to reflect as we dived straight into COVID19 and all that came with that. I had planned to return sooner, but I am hopeful to bring another group back in 2022. Such a magical destination.
Hi
What is your name please I want you for friend
Travelling to Luxor is a lifetime experience, as if in a time machine that takes you back to the great times of Egypt’s legendary kings, queens, deities and above all Egypt’s exquisite capital of civilization.
Watching these videos feels like being on holiday again! Good pandemic entertainment 🤣
You are the best Rick Steves. Thank you Sir for showing us the world!

Thank you for this full length video on Egypt! It was wonderful! I have been using your travel books for years after meeting you when I used to volunteer at KQED. I hope to do Egypt when we can travel again. Thanks for helping me to have so many great trips!

Rick...you are in the pantheon of US TV presenters, right up there with Mr. Rogers and Bob Ross, thank you so much for the views of the world you give us.
Beautiful video nicely presented, I enjoyed it.
Thanks for sharing nice content.
My good wishes for you
Hopefully everyone deserves a vacation like this. Just very special and relaxing.
Thank you for showing the people of Egypt & how they live their lives. I’ve been lucky to visit Egypt but focused more on the tourist sites - would have loved to explore the others as well.
