Pippin as she appears in a Helluva Boss AU, where clowns speciated from imps thousands of years ago. This version of Pippin also loves Beetlejuice (Beebo).
Imp!Clowns:
- Have tails, though instead of spades or spikes, they have feathers at the tip. Pippin's are still downy baby feathers and always will be.
- Have horns, like imps--though you can't see them, Pippin has little nubs.
- Have dark or blue-toned eyes (this is a classic sign of domestication in most animals)
- Can change the colours and patterns on their skin, change the colours of their feathers and the bioluminescence in them. In Clownery the bioluminescence is referred to as Flash and the colour patterns on the skin are called the Mask.
- Zanni can talk a bit more--zanni are known for speaking a kind of strange jumbled version of whatever language they know. They understand words but not how to conjugate verbs and tend to stack all the conjugations and arrange words out of order ('Pippin is!' and 'To be having Smallness.' etc), as well as younger zanni going through the same development as toddlers in that they have trouble with complex or long words ('Rfshalin' when attempting to say 'Professional', 'Apu' for 'Apple' etc), especially consonant blends and dipthongs. Clowns also exhibit aesthetic preference, and may avoid certain phonemes because they're not 'fun' to say.
