After what felt like an eternity of struggling, the Winged King and Iron Serpent had sank up to their paws. Initially, they had expected their feet and the rest of their tails to sink and join the rest of their bodies beneath the mud, but they didn't feel themselves going any deeper. In fact, Koraidon and Miraidon felt the top of their heads hitting something. They had reached the bottom of the pit. Their uncertainty was replaced with relief- if they had hit the bottom of the pit, they would not sink any further, so this could be their chance to get free.
But as the two Legendaries struggled trying to pull themselves out, the thick mud surrounding them was still gripping them firmly, and they could barely move their arms to push themselves upward. The only parts they could move freely were their feet and tails, which were the only parts of them sticking out of the pit. They could wave their soles around, wiggle their plump toes and wag their tails, but that did little to help Koraidon and Miraidon get themselves free.
It was by this point that the grim realization hit them. They were completely trapped, and had no way of pulling themselves out from the mud.
Concern filled their minds once more, but this time it was accompanied with fear. The Winged King and Iron Serpent were powerful Pokemon of a high status- they rarely felt fear, and yet they found themselves frightened by their current predicament. Not by the idea of being submerged or buried, but by the idea of being trapped for eternity with no hope of escaping. And that was the reality of their situation.
Taken over by dread, Koraidon and Miraidon began squirming their feet and tails, their toes wriggling and splaying as their muffled cries for someone, anyone, to help them came up as bubbles gurgling up the surface of the mud, which subsequently popped with resounding bloops under their paws. But no one was in the swamp at this time of night, and their bubbling cries fell on deaf ears. As the two Legendary Pokemon wiggled their exposed feet and tails, they were taken over by other emotions alongside their worry and fear: humiliation and shame. Humiliated by being reduced to pairs of feet and tails all because of a simple mistake, and shameful for getting themselves into this situation in the first place.
Koraidon and Miraidon's struggles gradually slowed down as they wore themselves out from how much they were struggling in their permanent prison. They technically were not Legendary Pokemon anymore- they were nothing more than pairs of feet and tails, reduced to mere trophies in a pit of mud. The swamp they were in was a foreign area, and no one would ever find them. They found themselves wondering, was this their fate? Were they destined to be reduced to nothing but wiggly paws and tails in a pit of mud for the rest of their lives? Regardless, Koraidon and Miraidon were trapped, and it would remain that way.
No matter how much the Winged King and Iron Serpent wished they could undo the mess they've gotten themselves in, they would never be able to. They would never see the light of day again, doomed to be submerged and isolated within a pit of mud except for their feet and tails. If there was a way for them to escape, it would be the release of death, but there were air pockets where Koraidon was submerged, and Miraidon did not need to breathe due to him being an android, so it was impossible for either of them to drown. Thus, they were condemned to an eternity of being stuck. This was their life now, unable to do anything but pitifully wiggle their feet and toes, and swish their tails about, forever, and ever, and ever.
