It's very awesome that you did some fan art of this series since I'm currently reading it.
I think those two make a cute couple. And although the beast people designs aren't my favorites they would make cute ticklees.
And thank you for using my journal on the series. It would be nice if you made a journal yourself promoting the series with those two preview links for the books. only if you want to.

I don't think they are bad designs, they seem to have a unique look having a combination of realistic and humanoid body designs. Like small short hands but as dexterous as a human hand, plus some beast people are clearly mutant hybrids.
I do wish that the king (leonhart) had more traditional looking digigrated or plantigraded feet instead of his official design, which you can't quite tell unless you see the very back of his foot.

ah yes I know what you are pointing at. True true, I must say. But, you see, I am more a fan of the more human shaped bodies with extremities allmost as human as possible. Some designs, like princess Amit for example, have a little too big head compared to the body. And Minister anubis is simply a little bit too cartoonish for my eyes, but that is just my oppinion.
And about Leonhart, in my eyes it is a bit unfortunate to have paws and feet with these oversized claws on them, makes it very difficult to to human like movements.
But again this is just my oppinion.

Yeah and I'm very open to minor fan redesigns like how you did leonharts feet in the picture. But despite some design longings I really enjoy the story, I've always been fascinated with human/creature tension laced stories.
Say have you heard of the Ancient Magus' Bride series?

ops sorry for the late reply.
Totally have missed this comment here^^;
Yes I have heard about this anime and the manga too. Both were shown in the AnimaniA magacine I am constantly reading.
The story sounds interesting, but the fact of Elias having just as a skull makes it difficult for me to get used to it though...

ah yes I know what you mean.
For him having antlers and being skilled in magic he resembles Cernunnos the most, the deer headed god of forests, fertility and hunt. The habit with replacing a skull with the usual face is more related to the skull headed horned snake on the pot of Gundestrup

Perhaps the Beast King had been telling Sariphi a story from his youth when he'd been on an adventure in a different time and dimension in the company of a hooded black furred and red eyed rat wizard named Eternal. They'd dared to venture into the palace of the Drow Queen and were seeking to sneak into her private boudoir only they managed to get themselves caught. The Beast King remembered quite well how he and Eternal had both been bound and awaiting their punishment at the hands of the Drow Queen itself and Sariphi had been quite enthralled by the tale, and the Beast King was feeling in a playful mood so thought they could make a game of it where she'd be the Drow Queen and tie him up, and she'd done quite a good job of it.
The courtiers are obviously quite shocked and considering this inappropriate though perhaps they'd also have considered the tale of the Beast King and Eternal's escapades with the Drow Queen quite suitable for an innocent child, though the Beast King isn't sure he could think up a reasonable explanation for why he was tied up like this. He is though also remembering the punishment the Drow Queen chose to mete out to him and Eternal in the end and despite the embarrassing nature of this situation and the shock of his courtiers maybe thinking it's a good thing if Sariphi doesn't learn exactly how ticklish he really is, as a king must maintain something of his dignity.

The beast king´s fashion style is mostly inspired by the 18th century fashion used in the Osman empire (Turkey). At least this is my oppinion.
here are some example to show you

minister Anubis has a mixed attire with designs both egyptian and chinese (especially his habit to hide his handpaws within his sleeves, because was not part of the muslim etiquette, but in fact an affrant, because one could have hidden a dagger there)
the entire fashion in this manga is more or less osman based in my eyes

There was of course a perfectly reasonable and innocent explanation, which the King could provide for how he came to be in this situation. Sari was after all a young girl with a child's active imagination and a desire to play and sometimes even a king might wish to take a break from royal duties and so agree to take an active role in her tale as it unfolded.
In this case a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, where Belle had decided to be more proactive about escaping her captivity and had managed to trick the Beast before binding and gagging him. As to where she'd gotten hold of rope and those other items, all things which could be found around a palace and collected, not a collection of gear that might have been for use in what were the private and consensual pastimes of the Beast King and willing partners.
The next part of the story as it unfolded would be Belle managing to escape the savage wolves in the forest surrounding the Beast's castle, which incidentally would also have involved binding and gagging them. Anubis and his fellow minister could play the role of the wolves perfectly, maybe going along with this and in agreement with their king that this never happened, and nobody would mention this again.
Also, that it would be best to always knock on the door to the kings' chambers and wait for a reply before entering.
