Jesus Christ, seeing that leg in that condition is kinda scary. Sports can be dangerous when not careful, especially basketball.

I found this episode quite realistic.

That's a whole lot of things just to say "it ain't over until it's over", for sure. With Sora's mom getting all but lost in the midst of it again...

Tobi/Kite can even shoot long range? He's too good!

The other team let the injured player play just so they can have final highschool match moment together, very risky...

But what's unacceptable to me is that Sora's mom want to see the match, right now, without any planning before, this is very life-threatening action. Sora will be sad for life if his mom is in danger just to see his match.

And the very good thing in this episode is the much faster pace than before, the opponent team flashback is interesting too, they're like the mother and father of the new basketball club, though who's father and who's mother is left for debate...

Another flashback, now about other guy we haven't meet until today's episode... Still don't give a fuck for that team. Sora's mom... Are they trying to tell us she has less time than we think she has?

for the first time in a while I want them to go with the "complicated surgery with low chances of survival but it succeeds" route. I have the feeling that Sora and his Mom will miss each other she gonna be too late for the match.

Playing through the third quarter in this episode. Some really good back and forth action from Kuzu and Shinjo, both teams have solid basketball players. Even with Kuzu getting that huge lead Shinjo didn't back down. Loved seeing the backstory with Takahashi and Kojima. Those boys went through a lot to get here just like our Kuzu boys. But it was amazing to see Mokichi play so well! He was doing just about all the scoring for Kuzu in that quarter. Sounded like he was getting tired but both Mokichi and Momoharu were doing so good together under the basket. Mokichi with that nice assist to Tobi. Really got me to feel for Kojima this episode seeing him fight with all that knee pain. Hope that the fourth quarter is just as exciting with Shinjo trying to dig themselves back out!

That's kinda late to join in the game, referring to that injured guy and Sora's mother. I really dislike this kind of drama. The worst thing is that we are wasting time on a cliche flashback about the team we don't care about.

Kuzu High seems to be dominating in the second half, but Shinjo is not going down without a fight. Shinjo has come a long way from not having a basketball team for a while. Kojima coming into the game late with one leg is a risky move. He won't last five minutes in into the second half.

Cool dunk! The match is pretty hype right now, feels bad for the other team but Kuzu has to win.

I can’t believe he literally pissed his pants. A high school basketball game isn’t worth getting a long term knee injury. I really do feel for Shinjo but I’m still rooting for Kuzu to win.

Chiming in from Team Middle Age to scream "DON'T WRECK YOUR KNEES FOR LIFE PLAYING HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS!" You've got a whole life ahead of you with things on lower shelves you'll want to be able to reach.

thats how you dominate the game... take advantage of the inside/ paint, as mokichi is just taking advantage of the points from the paint and thus the main reason why their having a 16 pt lead at the 3rd qtr... plus momoharu's rebound helping them very well in the said qtr as shinjo is just strugliling both offense and defense...

and can koji stayed in the game with that not fully recovered knee...

im excited for next episode

Of course he is but the situation remains absolutely humanly understandable.

At this stage the future of this game seems kinda drawn : next episode will feature a come back from Shinjo, then 31th episode will eventually allow us to witness Kuzu High winning their first official game. I can already feel the last action's injury to add a dramatic atmosphere and a despair mode for a certain player. However, what I preshot as well is Sora's mother showing up during the last quarter, to bring even more drama... not sure this is something I'll particularly appreciate.

This episode seems to focus on building the dubious and ominous atmosphere around Sora's mother and Shinjo's substitute; it seems that everything is prepared to (probably) crash and burn after a valiant effort in both cases.

We don't know what kind of people we truly are until the moment before our deaths.
As death comes to embrace you, you will realise what you are.
That's what death is, don't you think?

just when Kuzu high actually controlled a game for once it's now gonna get reset all the way back to normal smh

and man, is Sora's mom gonna attend every single game from now on lol

but oof, a knee injury is definitely not one to be taken lightly. Any more stress on it and it can cause some serious problems, both in your future in sports and everyday life

I feel sorry for the guy with knee injury, but I want Kuzu to win.
I'm kinda worry about Sora's mom, afraid she will die after this game ?? I hope nothing will happen and Sora can happily play basket in high school

The bromance between Takahashi and Kojima is so damn strong.

Okay, so leaving aside how stupid it's to play a match with a knee injury, I can't really deny how excited I become every time a spokon anime use this trope. This said, let's see how much Kojima can endure.

Sora's mom finally seeing her son play? I hope everything goes well, but her wanting to go now is a huge flag.

This episode was exciting again and I keep getting more invested into Shinjo, hell, even cheering for them, lol. Takahashi and Kojma sure gave everything just to play as a team. The later now joining the match, too bad that he can't play to the full extent of his abilities.

I'm not entirely sure - and I haven't seen anyone talk about the particularities surrounding the Kojima issue (and I'm super late too lmao) but apparently, there is a correlation between the loss of one's bladder control and having had knee surgery (although again, I'm not sure if he indeed had surgery or if he was just cast up - and I literally cannot remember it from the manga either).

Maybe I'm a Koji simp and somebody literally went "EWWW" after watching this episode but lmao.. I really don't know what to say except it might be a reflex or trigger an action like sensations felt when you hit your ulnar nerve/funny bone (as Momo hit Koji's knee).

Also, I don't know why everyone dislikes Shinjo so much (?) and Koji's decision to play - cos I'm pretty sure I'd be the same idiot insisting to play after a critical injury.

But really loving the spikes in animation that we (sometimes) get!!

I hope Koji doesn't make his injury much worse to the point where it will affect his future in sports. Seeing both teams struggling and giving it their all makes me almost forget who the true protagonist is.
