Blitzer, as he goes by now, wasn't his original name when he was an organic crocodile. That however changed when the aliens came and started to convert the inhabitants of the planet into cyborg slaves as a cruel experiment. Blitzer was caught by a mechanical monstrosity while protecting his territory, injected with conversion nanites, subjected to humiliating procedures, programmed to obey his new masters and finally used as a large amphibious weapon platform.
Over time the programming wore off due to incapability with his still organic brain as did ever other converted anthro's programming. Once free of the insidious alien masters control the cyborgs rose up and destroyed most of the alien invaders and chasing the rest off planet. The damage however had been done and now they were stuck with there new robotic forms. Two factions then came into being. Those who wanted to work with the non-converted for the betterment of the planet and those who reveled in their new form and powers to cause destruction and chaos. Blitzer tried to stay out of this conflict but eventually chose the former side as he knew that if he chose the "evil" side they would tear up his territory and probably strip mine it for resources. Something he would not allow.
Blitzer packs quite a punch. His physical strength was augmented in his conversion and he is capable of punching through solid rock with no issue at all. His powerful tail can knock over larger robots and even smash through plate metal if he pounds on it with that tail. His main weaponry are the two particle beam cannons mounted to his back. They are capable of firing out a beam with an effective range of 10 km (6 miles) and with such a destructive punch that heavily armored tanks are left with a large hole in the chassis.
There is also his plasma mortar mode which utilizes the same duel cannons and which can lob highly destructive plasma balls onto the battlefield from over 17 km (10 miles) away. In this mode he can effectively provide artillery fire to his allies while staying a good distance away. This is good because his back cannons eat up a lot of energy.
If connected to a external power source, Blitzer can fire quite a long time with very little recharge time between shots. However, if not powered externally the energy to fire his weapons has to come from his internal power core. One or two shots is nothing really draining to him but if he has to make several shots without a good recharge time his core can get taxed making him vulnerable as his reaction time slows down. This only is with his cannons though. His punches and melee attacks do not have this limitation.
There is one thing that he can do to offset this limitation somewhat. He is able to eat just about anything and derive energy from it. Obviously different amounts of energy are derived from different materials. He could effectively eat dirt all day long but the energy gains from that are not that great. He would rather chow down on an enemy tank he disabled and gain energy from that.
Blitzer is mostly, like the crocodile he is, an ambush predator. He likes to wait for his targets to approach and then blast them when they least expect it. Taking them out in as few shots as possible. In the water he's much faster than on the land where his max speed is just how fast he can run. In the water he has the aid of propulsion jets and so increases his speed considerably. Once he has disabled a unit he will rush in and take a large chunk out of it to help in his recharge unless it is not safe to do so. Attacking from water usually provides a respite where he can sink below the surface and wait until he can fire again.
